The Built for Sales suite is distributed as a setup.exe file packaged in a zip file. In order to install it on your computer, simply unzip the setup file into a file folder on your hard drive. Run the setup program and follow the installation instructions.
Tip: Setup allows you to change the default directory where the files will be installed. We recommend that you change the default directory. Your data files are more secure when placed on a drive other than the one where your operating system and software programs reside in. For example: Most Microsoft Windows users have their software installed on drive C:\. If this is the case and you have more than one local drive on your computer, your data files would be more secure if you installed them on one of the alternative drives.
Tip: We recommend that you save a clean (before you enter any data) backup copy of the database files in a separate directory.
In order to create an additional shortcut for Built for Sales, in Windows Explorer right click on the SALES.APR file and hold the button down while dragging the file to the location where you want to the new shortcut. Once you release the button, a menu of choices will appear. Select "Create Shortcut(s) Here" from the menu and your shortcut will be created. You can rename your shortcut or keep the default name.
Note: In order for the database module to properly function, all files and folders must remain unchanged within the folder were you installed the application. If you wish to move the location of these files, you must move the entire folder that holds the files. You will need to change the path for all shortcuts to the new location in order for the shortcuts to work.
