Order Tracking

Built for Business is designed to allow you to do more than simply enter your customers' orders. It also allows you to track the orders as they are completed and shipped. And it provides you with the On-time status of the orders as well.

You can track your orders in two ways. You can view them individually on at a time in the Order Status window. You can access Order Status from the Sales Menu Guide, or from the Orders window.

In the center of the screen you will notice a raised field that provides you with the current On-time status of the order displayed. Beneath it is basic information about the order. To the left of the screen is four date fields. The first displays the current date. Beneath it is the Delivery Date for the order. The next date field is for finished date and the final date field is for shipped orders.

By filling in the dates as each order reaches the finished and shipped stages, you will be able to track the status of each order at any time, and you will know if the order is on-time on not. This information can assist you in planning your production or order picking activities from day to day.

If you would prefer to see the BIG picture rather than viewing one order at a time, you can do this in the Order Status Report. This report does not offer as much detail about the specific orders, but it allows you to view all orders in list form. You can also update the FINISHED and SHIPPED fields from the report. And, of course, it gives you the On-time status of each order.

Another feature of the Order Status Report is that it allows you to select several predefined sorts of your information. You can view All Orders, Open Orders only (those orders that haven't been completed yet), Finished Orders only, or Shipped Orders only. This can provide you with a valuable tool for scheduling your orders, evaluating your on-time delivery record, and evaluating your delivery policies.
